I’ve known that there are a bunch of products on the market for cleaning and conditioning leather baseball gloves. The traditional brand name products come from Rawlings, Wilson, Nokona, and Lexol.  

The process for these “glove oil & conditioner” products typically is a several-step-process that take you 15 or 20 minutes and looks something like this:

1. Cleaning the glove: Use a soft cloth or sponge to remove any dirt or debris from the glove’s surface. You can also use a leather cleaner if needed.
2. Applying the conditioner: Shake the bottle of Wilson Premium Glove Oil and Conditioner well, then apply a small amount of the product to a clean cloth or directly onto the glove’s leather surface.
3. Conditioning the leather: Gently massage the conditioner into the leather, focusing on areas that are stiff or dry. Make sure to cover the entire surface of the glove, including the palm, fingers, and laces.
4. Allowing the conditioner to penetrate: Let the conditioner sit for a few hours or overnight to allow the leather to absorb the conditioning oils fully.
5. Wipe off excess: After the conditioner has had time to penetrate the leather, use a clean cloth to wipe off any excess product from the surface of the glove.
6. Repeat if necessary: Depending on the condition of the glove, you may need to repeat the cleaning and conditioning process to achieve the desired results.
